On my last blog entry I forgot to list the prices of the items I talked about. Neither of the items were exceptional bargains. The Micro keyboard was purchased at Circuit City for $10.59 (after taxes) and the USB thumb drive was a slight bargain for a 128-megabyte USB drive coming in at $21.20 (after taxes) and it was also purchased from Circuit City.
The Kingston USB drive came in at about ten dollars cheaper than average as of this date (at least when purchased from brick-and-mortar stores but it was not necessarily a cheaper price than a USB drive purchased over the internet- all price statistics for items I buy are based on the average brick-and-mortar store price, not what can be found online).
The final cost to me for the USB drive was suppose to be $39.99 with two mail-in rebates that would have brought the items price down to what I ended up paying upfront. There were problems printing out the rebate forms so they gave it two me at post mail-in rebate cost. I really got lucky on this purchase.
The cost of the keyboard is really not that good. A couple of months ago my brother purchased a keyboard with many more features (in other words it wasn’t a 108 keyboard) that cost six dollars (at a small computer vendors flea market). There was a sale going on at OfficeMax for black colored keyboards by Labtec (104 type) for four dollars and ninety-nine cents after mail-in rebate.
I know where one can buy used keyboards for two dollars (and not online). The purchase of the keyboard was not because it was a very good deal but because I wanted a new board and the Micro board price seemed reasonable though not very good.
