A major find in archeology occurred this week. On an island in Indonesia a new Homo species was reportedly discovered.

This species lived during the times that modern man lived (just like Neanderthal Man). An adult female stood approximately three feet tall (stood upright). This species seemed to live in groups, made tools and mastered fire.

Archeologists are calling the new find Homo Floresiensis (Flores Man). The find ranged from ninety-five thousand to twelve thousand years old.

Can you imagine three feet tall human like creatures walking upright, making campfires, making tools and going hunting. It is amazing.

I don’t want to put too much credence in this discovery yet until the site, tools and remains are further studied by more anthropologists.

I remember reading about the Piltdown Man who was supposedly the missing link. It turned out to be an elaborate hoax that fooled many in the anthropological community for years.

All I can say now is it will be a great and important find if proven true and will rewrite the books on man’s evolution (to some extent).

It is probably a very exciting find for those in the field. Let them get on with the study and analysis now.

Personally I don't think this will turn out to be a hoax. However I have a sneaking suspicion it will turn out to be an ancestor of apes rather than early humans. The fact that they were dwarves seems to be a clue to that suspicion. Even if they were isolated as seems to be the case, I still think survival of the fittest would have caused the line to quickly die off.

Hobbits, maybe?

Or, perhaps, Indonesia was formerly known as Oompaland?
