Well, there is another major security flaw in Microsoft Windows NT, 2000, and XP. The flaw is very major. No operating system should have ever been allowed on the market with such a flaw. Leave it to Microsoft to have such a flaw in a product sold to the public (which belongs on an ash heap). I think we can now certify the Microsoft operating system as garbage. Luckily for me I’ll soon be moving on to Linux as the main system I use online.

If you don’t move on to a different operating system like Macintosh or Linux then you’re out of luck. Did the world fall into a trap or what? How did Microsoft ever grow to dominate the operating system market like it does.

I just got done updating the latest critical patch for the Microsoft ‘garbage’ operating system. At first I couldn’t update it. It wouldn’t update for some reason.

I called tech support and got into a discussion about how come I was having difficulty updating a critical patch for their operating system and how come they did not have such a critical patch on their download web page.

I further mentioned that they ought to be sued for this major defect in their product. Once I said the word sued to the tech support person he informed me that he could no longer talk to me and must give me the number to Microsoft’s legal department to speak with someone there. This was extremely funny and annoying. Everyone should call Microsoft’s tech support and say, ‘I oughta sue you for your cruddy, crummy product and the risk you are placing me in’.

Once you call the legal department a person will inform you that you could leave a tapped message and someone will get back to you. They add that they could send you back to tech (they mean joke) support.

Of course I did call tech support back again and asked the guy why I was having such trouble updating a patch that Microsoft said was critical. I asked does the site have high volume today (heavy traffic can slow things down or bring servers down completely if they do not have enough bandwidth). The Microsoft tech said, ‘no’.

I continued and said, ‘I am having trouble updating the latest critical patch you guys said people with Windows 2000 and XP must have’. Believe it or not he then asked, ‘what patch’. I said, ‘what patch, the patch that was publicized last night on all the news channels’.

He acted (it can’t be true….can it?) like he didn’t even know what patch I was talking about (unbelievable). I had to give him the hot fix patch number in order for him to say, ‘okay’. However, by then it had installed and the issue was resolved. What type of person I’m I dealing with here? Is this the type of tech support staff Microsoft has? No wonder all tech support jobs are going overseas. I can tell this was a ___________ (fill in the blank) arrogant, condescending American.

The bottom line is Microsoft ought to be ashamed that it released such a product on the market. Even the ‘new and improved’ Windows XP has this flaw. Were the code writers on crack (more likely heroin or meth)?

Programmers and tech staff will self-righteously try and tell people, ‘you don’t understand. All code has kinks or bugs in it that are discovered and patched’. This may be true, but no software should have as many major kinks and bugs as Microsoft Windows has had. Any product put on the market as defective as Windows needs to be recalled. A class action lawsuit is necessary.

I will be moving on to Linux use on the internet eventually and although holes are occasionally found in Linux they are nowhere near as numerous as those discovered in Windows

. Unfortunately for the average user Linux is not as easy to use as Windows, but the Mac is (at a higher cost though).

You're a fool, thanks for playing. You sound like every other teen age kid who doesnt understand things and makes arguements without any valid points or hard facts. Congradulations.

If you think that the tech support that Microsoft has is bad, you should try receiving tech support from the Linux community, which usually answers with "RTFM n00b!" Also, I've learned that the problems people have with their computers usually are their own faults.

Thanks for calling me a teenager. I always thought I was young at heart. After reading several of your blogs I also am happy to be called a fool by a complete moron.
I do not supply long 'windy' arguments because this is a blog not a thesis paper as you seem to think. In fact your blogs defeat the very meaning of a blog and blogging.
I am willing to debate you or submit an essay anyday and anywhere to an academic review at any college whenever you like.
I will continue to blog the way I have now and in the future. May I give a word of advice to you. Try to keep your blog entries short and to the point. No one has time to read a 'windy' post.

Microsoft Windows is a garbage operating system. In a recent news article they stated that some of their code had been illegally released which may create security problems. I never heard something so foolish in a long time. If someone exploits security holes discovered in the Microsoft operating system then the code is written very poorly. Linux is open source. It is available to everyone and can be exploited by anyone but it is more secure than Microsoft and exploits that are found are plugged. Microsoft should worry less about parts of their code getting out there and more about making a secure operating system.

Linux Zealot - The Internet's most controversial cartoon superhero

What's funny is that someone seems to think that Linux doesn't have bugs, holes, etc. and someone seems to think that Microsoft doesn't plug the exploits and holes found. I guess that's why Software Update exists, eh?
