Boy, it has been a long time since I last posted to this blog but I have been posting a lot on my other blog. It comes down to time. I don’t have the time to write and post to both blogs and how things look right now I’ll probably have even less time in the future so it seems like I’ll be posting to my blogs in spurts. In other words sometime I’ll be posting daily to my blog while at other times I’ll not be posting for days, weeks or even months. Maybe I should consider blogging at...

I was never a part of the Fraternity and Sorority system at the college I attend. I never really wanted to be part of a collective where one must go through strange initiation rights and other practices throughout the college years. However there are advantages to being a member of Sororities and Fraternities. The network created just by being a member is an advantage. By becoming a member you have generations of ‘brothers’ or ‘sisters’ out in the working world that could be a big asset i...

A visit to an evangelical church: I was working out in the college gym where I met this guy. After talking to him a few times and continuously running into him at the gym he invited me to attend a church service. I did not want to go and told him on several occasions that I really wasn’t that interested. He was very persistent and every time I ran into him would ask that I go to a church service so after being pestered for weeks I gave in and said okay. It was a Thursday and this church ...

Shopping for replacement computer parts has enabled me to see the brick and mortar stores (or warehouses) that have good prices (cheap) and those with bad prices (expensive). The stores I went to looking for replacement parts for my computer were Circuit City, BestBuy, Office Max, CompUSA and a warehouse seller that also sells at computer shows (I can’t give you an exact name because he uses several). The store that surprised me the most was CompUSA. This store carries all computer related...

I was lying in bed the other night using my remote channel surfing when I came to a program on the Scfi network called Tripping The Rift. It is an animated series in the tradition of South Park but there is a distinct difference (in appearance of characters). One of the female characters on this series is generated to look like a very voluptuous female with full, shapely T and A (with a certain bounce). I was prone in the bed when a felt a little stirring in the gonads (rocks, diamonds...

Paul Allen the co-founder of Microsoft and owner of Techtv is selling Techtv to Comcast the cablevision company. It is said that Comcast will merge the channel with their gamer channel called G4. I consider this move a loss to broadcasting. I believe in diversity of ownership of media outlets. Having too few individuals and corporations owning media outlets leads to an end of the diversity of perspectives, and programming. This is bad for consumers and bad for democracy. You can expect ...

Lately I’ve been sampling the Howard Stern radio program again. I don’t listen to the entire program because that would not be tolerable. I had completely stopped listening to his program because I am not that into his type of humor, but all the controversy has got me back into it. So for an hour or so either at the beginning or end of the program I tune in. I guess it is because of the present situation he is in. It is like a countdown. How many more broadcast before he is taken off or le...

Well, I am back up and running with a new mainboard (motherboard), swap drive, memory, and hard drive. My Athlon 1800+ chip is working fine. With a little assistance from the seller of this board I was able to get the CPU running at its proper speed. It was not damaged in some way when I burned out my old motherboard as I initially suspected. My hot swapper stopped functioning (which I feel is kind of strange). I do not know if this was due to the burning out of my computer but I do know ...

I was and am having a lot of computer problems the last week or so. First my online Maxtor hard drive went bad. The symptoms of this problem were very subtle. Event Log in Windows 2000 Professional started indicating severe problems with the hard disk. I could not copy files or play music files and all functions became sluggish. I guess it was time for the drive to go. I have reformatted it and installed various types of operating systems on it dozens of times. I have hot swapped it, dr...

I was very surprised that Mel Gibson’s movie The Passion Of The Christ was as good as it is. The last A grade movie I saw that used subtitles was Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (A grade). There was an English dubbed version of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon that came on TV a couple months ago, which felt weird since I saw it twice in the movie theaters with subtitles (I think its better with subtitles). Believe me, if I sit through a subtitled movie then it is pretty good in my opinion. I...

Mel Gibson’s The Passion Of The Christ is a winner. The story is kept tightly on topic and deals almost totally with the crucifixion of Jesus. It starts with the betrayal of Christ by Judas. We get a sampling of other moments through flashbacks that occur throughout the story. The story meditates on the process of the crucifixion. In this regard it is very bloody. Gibson is very descriptive in showing the process and the audience feels the beating that Christ undergoes. It is instantly...

Howard Stern, what is called a shock jock on FM radio was dropped by the Clearwater radio broadcasts network in several key markets today because of the sexually explicit and racist content of a segment on his program. I use to tune in to Stern once in awhile (pre divorce-which I knew was coming). His program consist of very irreverent, juvenile, and sarcastic humor. As is common in this type of humor groups that are considered minorities are the dominant victims of this humor. Gays, black...

After thinking about my last blog entry at joeuser I realized that I was beginning to get sidetracked. Reading comments is one thing but then answering is quite something else. I was reviewing some of the blogs on this site and noticed that there were varying opinions on what a blog should be. Many of these opinions do not agree with my view. There is nothing really wrong with that. I guess a blog could be pretty much whatever one wants it to be. Many at joeuser think blogs should be deb...

The blog comment feature may not be such a good idea after all. I read a comment to one of my blog entries posted by a JeramyG. This person called me a foolish teenager (I’m no teenager) because of my ‘unsupported’ comments made about Microsoft. I have read some of JeramyG’s post and I have no intention of posting such formally written, and wordy entries to a blog page. To do so would be ridiculous in my view. If anyone comes across my blog and find that I have an opinion they can be su...

Speaking of the movie by Mel Gibson tentively said to be called ‘The Passion Of Christ’ there are a lot of historically based or themed movies coming out in the next months. A movie called Troy is due in theaters soon. I read there are two movies about Alexander the Great being made. When watching movies with historical themes one must keep in mind that they are not for the most part accurate even when the director is aiming for historical accuracy. Sometime the director is not trying to be...
