On my last blog entry I forgot to list the prices of the items I talked about. Neither of the items were exceptional bargains. The Micro keyboard was purchased at Circuit City for $10.59 (after taxes) and the USB thumb drive was a slight bargain for a 128-megabyte USB drive coming in at $21.20 (after taxes) and it was also purchased from Circuit City. The Kingston USB drive came in at about ten dollars cheaper than average as of this date (at least when purchased from brick-and-mortar sto...

I have a 128-megabyte USB thumb drive. This drive is 28 megabytes larger than my old Zip drive. It is solid state and some say it can take a beating without loosing data. I find this amazing. It’s good to see technology in data storage advancing so nicely. I wonder how far away from having larger capacity storage devices that could replace the present type of hard disk drive with all those moving parts that can become more easily damaged than the Scandisk camera cards or the USB thumb driv...

As with most people I get my information from many sources. This is the benefit of a free society. When you live in a free country it is very important that you keep up with what is happening in government at all levels. It is important that you be an educated consumer with well-developed critical thinking skills. It is important that you stay up to date with what your elected officials are doing. Are they trying to follow the policies they enunciated to the public on the campaign trail? A...

I had to order copies of my credit reports today. I used the toll free numbers given by the three major credit reporting companies and for Experian [(888) 397-3742], and TransUnion (1-800-888-4213) things went pretty smooth with their automated credit report request service but for Equifax (1-800-685-1111) things went quite different. First of all the speaker was speaking too fast but the major problem was after giving them the requested information the automated service informed me that ...

One of the greatest actors in American cinema passed away today. Believe it or not I am not a fan of or haven’t seen many of the films that he starred in but yet I realize the great influence he has had on American acting and actors. I have watched a total of four films that he played in with two of them being The Godfather and Apocalypse Now. Although I do not give these movies A grades (judging art is highly subjective) I give Marlon Brandos performance in both movies A’s. Brando rea...

A few days ago in the distinguish Senate of the United States our Vice President told the distinguished Senator from Vermont Leahy (D) to, “ go fuck yourself”. Lets just sit back and think about aged and ‘wise’ Cheney tells equally aged and ‘wise’ Leahy to “go fuck yourself”. Whenever I look at VP Cheney I will be sure to remember those wise words to Senator Leahy to “go fuck yourself” I have as big a temper as anyone and have been in heated arguments with others for one reason or another ...

I had a problem with my IDE cables today. What would happen is the BIOS would not pick up the proper size of the hard drive and would then not boot because of the inability to detect a boot sector. The first thing I did was change my 80-wire IDE cable but it still didn’t work. This ‘threw me off because the odds are against one having two bad IDE cables so I went off in another direction. Occasionally I had been loosing the CMOS setting, which in most cases indicates a bad board batt...

Some of this blog post is a quote from an entry I made on another blog site a year or so ago. It will be followed by some new exposition and then a quote from a second blog entry I made some time ago followed by some further exposition on my sexuality. On Homosexuality: “Yes, people in America are squeamish about being identified as homosexual. There are still a lot of negative social sanctions with being identified as such. For actors, actresses, and musicians such an admission could mea...

May It Rain In The Northwest US: I read the Northwest US is pretty parched and the need for water is critical. Lets hope storm clouds gather and raindrops fall on the forest, mountains, deserts, and plains of the Northwest. They need it with water needs being so great and all. I hate to see precious forest go up in flames as has happened quite a lot these past few years. They need heavy rains in the summer and heavy snowfall in the winter for the next year or two to make up the very large...

Journalism ceased to exit this week when it comes to the passing of our former President. In the US we have suffered a whole week of unbelievable sickenly sweet testimonials about the former President Reagan. Maybe it was under some standard of etiquette the press was following that says something like don’t speak ill of the dead but this was a public official not uncle Albert (where negative criticisms will suddenly appear many years after his passing attached to the obligatory phrase Lord ...

G4techtv channel sucks. Not only does the channel suck but the new website that combines the G4 channel and techtv content sucks. They should have kept the basic setup of techtv’s web pages. The new channel, which is ridiculously placed way up in the hundreds on the Comcast Cable system, is not worth going to. May I suggest the honchos at G4Techtv jettison all the programming that was on G4 and pick up all the programs from Techtv for your new enterprise. Comcast cable needs to move G4Tech...

A documentary won the Cannes film festival. This festival is one of the most prestigious in the world and is attended by international critics, actors and others in the entertainment industry. Fahrenheit 9/11 a Michael Moore film won the top prize at Cannes, which is the Golden Palm. I hear Fahrenheit 9/11 is very critical of the Bush administration. Looks like the worldwide entertainment industry has made their feelings known about the Bush administration. Since this film has won such ...

I now have another monitor. Like the Gateway Vivitron this one is used. The specs. are about the same as the Gateway so I gain no improvement in performance. The good thing is the price was the same as the Gateway brought a few years earlier. It came in at twenty-one dollars (tax included). It is a Dell Trinitron (I’m beginning to think all I basically did was change brand names). I had to go to the web and look up the Pin layout because it seemed to be missing Pin nine. I found out after...

My Gateway2000 Vivitron monitor is on its way out. It’s kind of too soon for me. I had no intentions of buying a new or used monitor any time soon but circumstances seemed to have spoiled that plan. The monitor was an excellent bargain when I purchased it. It came in at a nice twenty-five bucks. It was used of course but it has performed well. The time has been kind of short but for the price I’m not complaining too much. I feel I got my 'money’s worth' out of it. Theoretically a moni...

The pictures coming out of the Iraq prison torture case reminded me of a porn film that prominently featured Arab actors and a bazaar and bathhouse (Turkish). I have blogged about this film elsewhere in the past I think. It is called Sex Bazaar (Harem), which was made in 1984. I think the director (could be producer) is Jean-Daniel Cadinot. It is in French with no subtitles but as I think we all now know, ‘a picture is worth a thousand words’. I am not that knowledgeable of porn films bec...
